Running our PB ... ahemmm "fully loaded" ... at 75-80 MPH from
ALbuquerque NM to Soquel Ca I got 8.5 MPG. At 65-70 MPH and a reasonable
load I got a little over 10 MPG. Just did 101 miles on 8.5 gallons from San
Rafael to Soquel this afternoon - at 60-65 MPH with my wife, myself, and a
full fresh water tank and no other cargo.

Different guys have reported different MPG figures. I think that a lot has
to do with where you drive (hills vs flatland for example), how you drive
and the state of your engine. I had a period where the choke wasn't
releasing properly and my mileage dropped to under 8 MPG. Take a look at
your tailpipe. If there's black sooty buildup you may have a fuel control
problem somewhere in the system. How do the plugs look?

Good luck.

Thanks for the feedback. I've never know what to expect. Now I have a baseline.

You can't gage your milage on one or two fill-ups. I suggest you run an
average over at least three tankfuls and then look.

Over the past 5 years I have averaged 8.5 mpg without towing the car.
This includes all speeds up to 85 mph (not too often [g]) mountains in
Colorado, (again, not too often) flat Florida, hot, cold, etc.

My first Palm Beach gave me 10 mpg fairly regularly but I didn't add any
after market stuff, like awnings, step, pod, etc to it.

Towing the car, the avg drops to about 7.5 mpg.
