Hi Larry
I have camped in the Keys for three years in a row..I
dont think the local police will let ya camp along
HWY 1...Not down in the lower keys anyway...But I
could tell ya where there is a cool place off the
beaten path down there....Its on Sugarloaf Key..kind
of rough road...I wouldnt take a coach with a good
paintjob down it...and not sure it would clear the
mangroves..but it might??? The old road had a bridge
on it..but its burned out...Theres a turnaround at the
bridge and a boat launch for small craft...This is a
primitive site...most people dont know its there...
Kind of a river there..leading out to the Atlantic..
If ya want more info...let me know.

P.S.
Caught lots of Mangrove Snapper there and a Barracuda
