My Land Cruiser came with the M/S tread ("Mud & Snow") which is the quietest
M/S tread I have ever experienced. I would not hesitate using it on the GMC
and in fact would prefer it if I had any intention of winter driving. But
they also make the tire with an A/S ("All season") tread, and that is the
one I ordered. Supposed to be even quieter. The Michelin web site has the
spec. sheet on both treads:

I also ordered the 225/75 R16 size because that nearly matches the OE 16.5"
ones.
