Hello listers

I lurk on this list and enjoy a lot of the bantering and repair info.
Here's my situation. I have a '74 26' GMC that I love. I use it for
traveling to dog shows. (The dogs ride in crates!) It has a back bedroom,
dinnette & chairs & sofa/bed. It serves my needs very well. It has low
mileage (about 85K), is in great condition, runs well and is generally
perfect for me. The rub is that neither my husband nor I have the time, nor
technical ability to keep the vehicle running. So it visits the mechanic
regularly for what most of you folks would consider minor repairs. My bank
account and I can testify it has had most of its minor & major components
replaced, upgraded and fine-tuned in the last year. I guess what I'm saying
is, I'm finding that maintaining this vehicle in the style to which it
would like to become accustomed is outside my means! I really don't want to
sell it, but am considering it and would like to know from you all if
anyone can give me an idea on what I could expect for a price and if you
know the market demand for this type of rig. I believe the blue book put in
around $17K for low-mileage, condition and extras, etc. Let me know,
privately if you like, what your input would be.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Publically would be alright too, as there are probably a few others
interested in a small sample of opinions on the subject.

Laura!
You can call the guys at Buskirks or Cinnabar and they can send you a
Appraisal for your GMC, its free.

Buskirk # is 1-800-715-1133 and ask for Max Pardy!

Thanks for the info folks. It's looking like my beloved "Pregnant Cadillac"
(No, that's for real, it's on the spare tire holder!) may have to go away.
I only wish I was more mechanically inclined and could do more of the basic
maintenance work myself.

Anybody out there on the list (I'll also check in with the other places
ya'll mentioned) contact me if you or anyone you know is interested. This
is really an excellent coach in remarkably good condition inside and out.
I'm not sure what the correct name is, but it's a 26' '74, with tan body
and darker brown stripes on the sides. Inside is dark blue and dark paneled
cabinets. Original awning, dash & guages, windows, cabinet, stove, fridge,
interior & exterior paint. Has a microwave, roof air, extended carrier on
the back and roof carrier. Includes extra brand new air bags (came w/ it
originally). Tires are quite new (I've put only 5-10K miles on them in the
last year) etc. The generators in good shape. It has the central vac.

Any way it has most of the bells and whistles and runs fine. I'll fine tune
the price w/ the appraisal place JR mentioned, but would like to know if
$17K appeals to anybody. Appraisal may be more, may be less. But that's a
price I could live with for someone who wanted to take it on in the next
couple months. I could drive it 1/2 way to meet someone in other states (to
Oregon to meet a Californian, for example), but only for serious buyers.

Thanks for all your help.
