Just got back -UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!! 400 GMCs in one spot. Unfortunately we had
to return after just one day.
Next time maybe ....
I have some photos that I will try to get developed and scanned.
In response to the water heater problem. When we first used our GMC, the
heater seemed to work fine, engine heated water and residual even gave us
hot water the next day. We then stopped for more than one day and I turned
on the electric water heat switch. No heat. Got out the tester and figured
the 20 year old element gave up the fight. Went crazy trying to figure out a
NO POWER to element problem. I assumed that there was a break in 110V
between switch and heater element. Fortunately while disconnecting the 110V
at the combo switch-outlet I noticed that the switch was reversed, the decal
indicated off---printing on the toggle indicated on. Since my GMC was
rarely possibly, never used for camping I suppose the original owner never
used the electric heater. I may have fried the element when I plugged in
prior to filling water tank, first making sure the heater switch was in
"off" position. Solution: reversed decal and replaced the element. The
result : Power and hot water. This might be an item to check.
