I spent the weekend doing some routine and not so routine maintenance on my
75 Glenbrook. I ran into a few areas for concern and I was hoping someone
could give me some guidance.

The oil filter for the Onan, is there a AC or Fram equivalent, or do I have
to stick to Onan?

Anyone with experience changing the heavy battery cable that runs from the
engine battery to the rear battery? Mine is corroded in a number of places
and the insulation is dry rotted, concerned about arcing and a fire.

Finally, how does one go about replacing the tranny kickdown solenoid? I
can't get a downshift out of her. I have run through the trouble shooting
procedure. The solenoid is getting juice, but I still don't hear the click
described in the maintenance manual.

The best cable is welders cable, size "0" or thereabouts. Any welding supply
can make it up with eye fasteners each end. Take the old one out, after cursing
for a while, and measure it.

Re. Cable. The cable runs inside the coach along the outside wall. You will
have a wonderful time removing it, unless you wanted to do the interior
refurbish at the same time. At least, that is where the cable in my 76 runs. If
you are replacing it, you might want to think about running it along the frame
rail and connect it to your battery through the generator compartment.
Disconnect the old cable from the front battery and from the positive post
behind your 12v fuse panel but leave the cable which comes from the rear
battery connected to the post for your 12v power. My thoughts. Darren
