Macerator time

Which brand is prefered and why? I've decided since getting stuck on my own property last fall backing up to the septic, the macerator is easier
than modifying my property. Plus so many camps have the waste finished out too high to get a good dump.

John,

There are substantially two types that are readily available.
American = Jabsco, Shurflo and Raritan. Mostly, I have dealt with Jabsco. They are all so much alike that I can't offer and honest evaluation as to
which I might prefer. Parts are available for all three, but not cheap.
Chinese = Buy on ebay will be cheaper in all possible ways. Don't even think about finding parts. But, they are often cheaper than the repair kit
for a Jabsco.

Be ready to supply DC as they all draw about 20 amperes when running and more than that starting.

Do not disable the gravity dump. When the machine gets plugged up, you will need it. It is best to be able to valve it off from the tank so you can
remove it to clear it when the tank is full. I suggest that you include rubber couplings for this purpose.

I have seen some nice installations in GMC, but as my home dump is next to the driveway, I am going to stay with that.

The finish out remark is real and an issue, and I ran into that at Amana. We go to so few FHU campgrounds that I just don't worry about that.

I have looked at carrying a portable, but I have a 23 with no storage that I could dedicate, and there is no big DC at the rear for powering the
thing.

When I did mine a quick look at local RV shops had jabsco parts where right on shelf.

So it seemed at the time it was most common one sold/used/installed. That may have changed.

Go to our NEW Website and explode on our Macerator kit and see that we use
the small neck unit.
We now use Lynn Clark's reducer as it will pick more low level fluid
without cavitating.
One can also go to our instruction site and see how we do ours as it is the
most common and works.
