Thanks Henry,

Great idea. Forget vandals. It's the curious admirer
who asks "what is this switch" as he flicks it. This
has actually happened to me twice. You would be
amazed at how quick some can move - though not as
quick as the Jabsco Pump ...

Kinda reminds me of the GEICO tv commercials!

I had never thought of this simple idea. Will add it
to my list.

Thanks

Mike

Heh, I was planning to use an aircraft style covered switch - always off
when the red cover is down. After reading this, maybe that's not good
enough to beat the "stupidity" factor.

Reminds me of the Ron Machado story about the student pilot flying a Cessna
152 Aerobat who pulled the red ring just to see if the door *would* fall
off. It did...

Yeah, and my outlet is right by my feet when I stand by the genset ...

Glad you like it. FWIW, the reason why I'm going to use a relay instead of
just switching the power lead directly is because my wire chases are
getting too full of stuff. Besides, I can use lighter gauge wire for the
pump wiring - BIG bonus.

To add another "safety" layer to the system, I have an electric slide valve
actuator to add onto a separate circuit to be switched from inside.
