Please note, bdub., this is not directed at you *personally* at all. Just
quoted your recent post as an example. Some time ago someone was looking
for cheap digicams. I posted the link as an effort to help, heck I can't
afford those things myself being on fixed income with rising
expenses/property assessments.

If the GMC-net webizens wonders why lurkers lurk, your quoted post is
typical (I *know* it's not intentional, smile -). I've posted info in the
past I thought the list would be interested in and got shot down both
publicly *and privately* (except for Scott A.) Guess I'll just watch the
gurus /"Power GMCers" mull over things I can't afford and just shut up.

Confirmed digest lurker...

Nice price but there's one big drawback for me. There's no optical
viewfinder. You have to depend on the LCD to frame pictures. This gives
me a headache since I have to tilt my head back in order to focus on the
little LCD. :-)

Just FYI

Hi Ritch. Just to let you know, that, I too, was shot down many times. What it
comes down to is, if you have a valid point the people who can use it are not
always the ones you will hear back from. There are many like yourself who do not
speak up enough. If the point you make is not relevant or is incorrect for a
particular person they will tell you, and every one else. I, myself have been
discouraged at times with some of the comments, but have learned to just let them
go. It is a, take what you need and toss what you don't scenario. The important
thing is to not take anything that is said here personally. 90% of the meaning
gets lost because none of us are talking face to face in this forum. I read all
of the GMC content and if there is something I don't like I delete it and move
on, most of the time anyway. Carry on. Darren

I would have to say that I am a bit of a lurker myself, however I think
Ritch has confused some one expressing their opinion and discourse on a
topic, which happened to differ from his, as a put down. I for one
appreciate the opinions of lurkers and, as Ritch calls them "Power GMCers".
I sincerely hope that if I offer an opinion that differs from your, you do
not view it as an insult.

It is obvious that there are some here who know a lot, some who think they
know a lot, and some who have an opinion on everything. It is basically a
slice of life. Please Ritch and all the other Ritch's out there, give us
your thoughts when you have them. Don't be intimidated by someone who may
have a different view!

Tony

I have an opinion very similar to Emory Storas with regards to my
sensitivity towards another posters comments. I sometimes quickly answer a
question without thought to the posters personal viewpoint investment.
Please please please do not take 99.9% of my comments as a personal affront
to either the poster or anyone else, for its only an attempt to help the
poster.

This is a very impersonal media in which to communicate, and the problem is
compounded by the wide range of mechanical, engineering, and interpersonal
relationship experience among us.

But our common love and admiration for the GMC motorhome should over come
these personal short comings that we all possess.

Everyone has to admit that the GMC net is a great success, and that all of
us has shared in that success, whether you answer each and every post, or
just patiently read and grin as the battles rage and the differing opinions
are posted and explored. Its information exchange at its best.

For those of you that are engineers, I am sure you have experienced the very
same kind of rivalry, and attacks when working on a project, in your
personal careers. I have witnessed it many many times, and sometimes almost
to the point of stopping entirely. When ever it caused me personal pain, I
remembered the old saying "even the turtle makes no progress until he sticks
his head out of his shell".

Please to all of the lurkers and especially you Ritch, make all of the
comments you feel like making. I for one will try even harder to make sure
that my comments do not offend anyone.
