NTB got in the two Alcoa wheels I needed for the front and the
Bridgestones are mounted and balanced. Paid $110 for the tire and
balance (thanks Patrick for the invoice), but the lug nuts they got in
from American Racing were not the ones from Alcoa. They have ordered
the correct lug nuts and caps from Alcoa.
Problem is they will not be in until late next week and I have to take a
trip to Pittsburgh (650 mi. round trip) Tuesday. The 16.5 tires I have
are badly cracked and I would prefer to ride on the new Alcoas and
Bridgestones. How bad would it be if I used my current lug nuts for
this trip and put the real Alcoa nuts on when I got back? Yes I know it
is wrong, but I ahve to take the GMC and would rather have new tires
than the old. I could switch the lugs from the rear rear to the front
and use the GMC nuts on the rear rear (less stress on the wheels?)
Any suggestions?
Marcus
