The LS6 isn't what you'd call a real RV kinda engine, but it is a generally
desirable one. It was availible in Chevelles and Corvettes in '70, rated 450
Gross HP @ 5800 rpm. The GMC 455 is more like 345 Gross HP at 4600. Until a
few years ago it was availible over the counter at the parts department at
the Chevy dealer. Real expensive.

It doesn't bolt in, but some people have adapted Chevy 454's to the GMC I
see.

It's primary features are 4 bolt mains, forged crank, heavy duty connecting
rods, forged pistons. Its a helluva short block, with a tamer cam and low
performance heads and manifold, it might make a very durable RV engine. If
its been in use in a car already, its likely been abused, might not be a
bargain.

Probably not something you really want, but if you get a real deal on it,
and it is in good shape (crated!) its quite saleable. Maybe you can make a
few $ towards a GMC project!

Hope this helps

THANK YOU BRENT.!!!!
Exactly the information I wanted. The price is right (free), the condition is
unknown. What a resource we all have with the GMCNet!!!
