Lower radiator hose with spring

Finally, all my lower radiator hoses and springs are in..All parts numbers came from the GMC Motorhome Parts Interchange Index..
First of all the Napa FM15 flex hose. Virtually uncrushable. But I think the comments on it being too stiff and can apply excess unwanted force on the
radiator inlet, and the possibility of flow restriction due to the ribbed design, make it the last choice. And at $35, the most expensive.
Then the molded hoses.
Napa NBH 8796 and Gates 22125. These 2 hoses are identical, and $12 apiece(even though the interchange index has different notes on the amount of hose
to cut off to make each hose fit).
First thing I noticed was the softness of the molded hoses, and that's at room temperature. Imagine how much softer they would be at 190*F....
So I am definitely going to fortify the hose and use the spring that I got on Amazon, $7. Even though the hoses are supposedly designed not to
collapse, I am not going to take any chances. ESPECIALLY with a hi flow water pump.
Now time to get greasy!!
Scott.
