So i have a 400 watt inverter that i use to run my EBL WUD and supply USB power in the cab. The inverter powers a duplex socket that also has usb power.
Id like a low power automatic transfer switch to switch from the inverter to shire power when available.
I only need 400 watts max.
Has anyone seen or built such a beast?
Dont see anything on fleabay or Amazom...
It seems like a 110v DPDT relay is all thats really needed

Keith,

You don't even need that if that inverter is off the house bank. Just leave it on. If you are using power from the inverter, the converter will just
work a tiny bit harder.

Besides, if you have a transfer contactor, when it cycles it will "blink" the 120V available and how much of a problem will that cause??

If it isn't on the house bank, buy a tiny converter charger to put on the main engine start battery - One less thing to worry about.

Keith,

Here's exactly what you asked for. I used a 30 A relay to carry the entire
coach load, for your purpose, you could use a smaller/cheaper one.

Thanks Ken, thats what i was thinking. It seemed too simple, made me suspicious!

But i think Matt has the best idea. I do have a nice PD converter to charge the house battery. Why make it more complicated than necessary.
Wait.. did I say that? Lol

I agree with Matt and you -- keep it simple. But since I knew the details
of what you asked for, felt I should pass it on. :-)
