Cheap plastic thing, broke off around the probe and is leaking.

I've checked GMCMotorhome Information site, searched this forum, looked through the GMC Motorhome Parts Book and while I see references to the low
coolant level sensor, nowhere can I find a part number for this item. Anyone got a part # or what automobile it was used in?

TIA

Looking closer at the GMC Motorhome Parts Book I finally found it. It is listed under Cooling---Radiator Core---last item in this section and called
"PROBE ASSY.-RADIATOR TANK, low coolant (see group 7.042 . PART #358375

A Google search of 358375 confirms the # as Coolant level sensor at Rock Auto and various eBay sites. Pretty common usage on a lot of GM vehicles.
Cheap too at $5.92.

See this. https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=40217&jsn=3

Sometimes, when dealing with 40+ year old plastic parts, it's probably
better to leave well enough alone. If you put a wrench on it, almost
certainly, you are not going to improve it. If it works at all, it won't
after you mess with it. If you do not have a new one in hand, think
seriously about not messing about with it.

All the replacements I've seen are plastic. I'm toying with boring a bolt longways and sticking a piece of wire heat shrinked and JB Welded in.

Where is the control modal mounted for the coolant level sensor?
I don't think I have one. The previous owner added a switch to shut it off and I found a mistry transistor that may be connected in the circuit.
The switch and transistor are mounted in front of the level control.
I just haven't had the time to see what it does.

Jerry,
Cinnabar Did not renew their contract with GM for few years ago so they
have nothing exclusive. Your passing around old information.
They were trying to intimidate most of the GMC MH repair shops, but did not
succeed.

Thanks Jim for the Cinnabar information, I did not know that.
I am not new to owning a coach but am new to the gmclist, am finding it interesting and informative. Like your updating me on Cinnabar's official status with GM proper. Cinnabar is close to where I live so "by default" they get a lot of my business when I need something. 1.5 hr drive from where I keep the coach.
I appreciate the information. Was interesting, the variation of price for the came or similar component. Pays to shop around...

Jim,Thanks for the link to your web site. Nice easy to navigate.
Question on the recalled Alcoa rims, has any one actually broke one of them on a GMC motor home?
I still have them and now it appears that Alcoa does not continue to make any of them, but they will refund $250.00 per rim when I return them to them...lol have to have rims to replace the recalled ones. Any ideas on 16 Inch replacements?

Jerry,
Alcoa wheels that were recalled was because some one ton trucks that they
feel were overloaded. No GMC MH were ever involved.
The wheels crack at the tire bead and air leaks, so the wheels never breaks
or anything deadly.
I would not worry, just keep eye on air pressure.
We now have a Hub Centered ION wheels, in 16 and 17"
With the correct tire, the 17" is just slightly larger diameter.
WE are the only distributor to Have these HUB Centered rims. We also supply
the SS valve stems. Makes air injection simple.
Visit or sight to see more detail.
