Have you read the News Letter that Western States just put up on the web
???? ( our good buddy bdub)

http://www.gmcws.org/techcenter/99-12/99-12tc.html

They talk about loss of a transmission after an engine rebuild. I wonder
if you could be having some of these problems. It might be worth printing
out and taking when they replace the transmission.

Have a good Holiday.

Gene,
Thanks for the input. I'll take it with me but don't think that it's what
my problem is. Chuck would not be a happy camper if his engine was the
problem. My Tranny won't do reverse at all now (acts like neutral) and then
it drops out of 3rd into 2nd when on the highway as soon as you touch the
throttle. 1st and 2nd are OK. As long as I don't want to go over 65 mph or
backup I'm fine. 8-)
Spent most of the day driving "The Deuce" with the kids and man is it
FUN!!! www.tconl.com\~chase\deuce.htm. Sad to see "The Sweat Lodge" setting
there waiting for repairs though... hope the weather holds out or it will me
April before I can unthaw it!

Gene,

What can I say, things happen no matter how carefull you are. We replaced
the trany lines and made sure no poopy was anywhere, I knew I would be too
far away to help if something went wrong.

I too want to know the cause of the trouble. My trany guy is most
interested in the outcome, I have only had 2 (now 3) trany problems in the
9 years he has built 425's for me. Each time he stood behind his work as
he did here.

I guess in an imperfect world the best you can hope for is someone to help
when something goes wrong! I'm glad we could finally find someone near
Nate to help, it was depressing how unhelpfull most shops were.

Nate pass on the trany shop name to anyone in your area, they deserve our
support.

And this too will pass.

I wish there was an answer, this is about the last thing I have to
replace and I must admit I listen all of the time..... I try to say
if it quits it quits, but hard to do that.

I think Dave has the answer, no spares, just a cell phone and a credit card.

Ps did you see your picture I posted on the photos page ? You have not
changed a bit.
