This is an email that Chuck Stoddard sent to me and I am forwarding it
to all readers of our net. I had my serious doubts about CASPRO SHOCKS
being GABRIELS. In any event please read if you are interested or hit
the delete. I have know Chuck for a number of years now and to think of
him doing or even thinking about it on a piece of equipment he has
developed for our GMC I should be horrified to say the most. Chuck Will

Well, the e-mail world is kinda screwed-up. I think all's well now,
but ya never know. Please let me know if you get this ------
The following was sent to you about a week or so ago --- fortunately
it's still in my magic box/computer, so here it is, pasted into a new
e-mail.

>>>>>>>>> Exactly, WHERE did you see this? --- and what BASIS does anyone
have for making such a statement?
For your information, I personally determined the specifications &
dimensions, & personally did all the development & testing of our
shocks ----- it took me several YEARS, to finalize the specs. If some
uninformed person thinks he can find or purchase them from Gabriel (or
anyone else), I would like to see his invoice/proof of purchase.
Although I have never met Mr. W. Coughlin of the Cinnebar Co., he has
published some inaccurate info, over the years. In one of his
newsletters, he printed an article on shock absorbers. To the casual
reader, it would seem that he was the author. IF you read the small,
fine print at the end of the article, it was stated that the article was
written by someone not associated with the GMC community /motorhomes.
The article was originally published in an off-road truck magazine, &
concerned the use of Bilstein shocks on trucks . Mr. C. evidently
received permission to amend several paragraphs of the original article
to include his opinion/revisions relative to GMC vehicles, & to then
print it in his publication. In my opinion, there were several
statements therein, which were inaccurate/inappropiate -- -- one of
which was something about Caspro shocks & Gabriel. Cinnebar has never
purchased any of our products, to our knowledge --- & FOR SURE, has
never called us for information &/or discussion. This is the only
possible source I can imagine for this inaccurate info.
We never put our name on products made or sold by others, and we
specifically do not permit others to put their name on our products --
- -- However, several have tried, -- and been specifically denied ---- &,
yet, to our displeasure some even advertise in a manner which infers
our products are included in their's ---- such as "a 3.50 ratio
transmission" (they never ever bo't any parts from us ).
All of which leads me to try to tactfully caution GMC'ers to fully
investigate/understand what they are purchasing & receiving.
Unfortunately, all is not what it seems to be in this changing world, &
not everyone is discerning enough, or, worse yet, really cares to know
the difference.
Thanks for your comments, patronage, AND,
most-importantly , I hope all of our products are working to your
satisfaction.
If not, please let me know.
