Loose dash AC vents

Maybe I took the easy way out. I just used one side of a peice of velcro
tape. Pushed real hard on the vent so as to make it blow towards the
floor. This exposed the dash portion of the vent. I stuck the peice of
velcro tape on the dash portion, let the vent come back to a normal
position and the additional friction holds it where ever I position it.

it with us. It may not be the final answer but it is a starting point. I

hope we dont find out that if the water is not below 210 degrees when
you
put it in it will explode the next time you turn on the heater. Just to
be
sure though-----what is your altitude?

I just used a hair dryer to get the tabs back in shape. The second
thing that I did was to glue a piece of felt on either end in about a
half circle. This helps to create some additional friction that holds
the little bugger in place. In my junk yard jaunts I have been
scrounging good ones out of Toronados and Riveras

Phil,

I went to the junk yard and found 3 air compressors like the single one
in my 78 Royale, 4 vapor canisters and four of the small dash vents.
This junk yard sort of does it by brand. 8 Caddies over here, Olds
over there. I just look , find and strip. I don't bother with the
years. Paid $45 for all of the above. I was checking out at closing
time, the owner said do you want to check those pumps out? I said no, I
am a gambling man. He said well I normally get $25 for those in running
condition. I said my friend (Emery) paid $10. He then charged me $45
for the lot. Went home and hooked them up to my motorcycle 12 volt
charger and they pooped out air. Oh well and then I used a charged up
battery and then hummed and produced lots of air. I would look for Olds
and Buicks of the late 70's.
