Sure, it's expensive however I would love a new pair as mine are foggier than most, Seems actually conversing with a real vendor who could perform this is trickier than anticipated. Being in Oregon I theorized that my proximity to the coach industry in Coburg would make things more streamlined? However, efforts are not fruitful and quotes so ridicules as to move me to inquire here on the forum.

Any suggestions for a better path?

Have you talked to those in the local gmc club? Pretty sure guys like kelvin in eugene know glass companies that install.
Yes, talk to Kelvin D. (current president of the Cascaders club). He sourced his new glass locally as the manufacturer is near Eugene. I'm not certain who installed it, but he got the glass for around half what it is usually advertised.
