Eric,

You do not want to locate your engine oil temp sender in a tee off the
oil pressure port. It's at the end of a passageway meant to measure
pressure and does not get good oil circulation, and will not give a good
temp reading. An easy place to add the engine oil temp sender is in the
aluminum adapter where the oil filter attaches. It is easy to remove
from the engine and take to your work bench for drilling and tapping the
port for your sender and it does not require adding any extra fittings to
the cooling line. Locate the port in the passageway for the connection
of the oil cooling line going to the engine oil cooler. You will be
measuring your oil temp at its' hottest location which can be up to 40
degrees F hotter than the engine oil pan temp when the engine is under a
heavy load. When you put the adapter back on use a new seal which you
can take from a used oil filter.
