liquid balancing

Has anyone used liquid wheel balancing? I have two long haul trucker
bros-in-law who tell me that I should dump the lead weights and use the
liquid balancing. Apparently cools tires, improves balance and tire wear,
etc, etc. Priced out here at $13 Canadian a tire (under $10 each US), 20
minutes to do and avail at any truck stop (I am told).
Thoughts?

Took a couple of hours off today (don't tell anyone) and went over to the
truck tire shop to find out more about this liquid balancing thing. The
liquid is shot in through the valve stem. They drop the tires to about 50
lbs then "inject", then pu,p the tire back up. They also have a bag version
that they can put in the tire before they put it on the rim, and the bag
breaks once the tire starts to go around. Looks like antifreeze. When the
tire comes off the rim, it obviously isn't dry, but nobody flinched. They
had 7 big rig cab units in, all getting new tires and injections.

They said that people not putting a lot of mileage on may not find it
useful, as the purpose is to extend tire life for people changing more
often because of high mileage, but they felt that I would notice an
improvement. Think I'll give it a go. It would seem that at best it will
work well, at worst it will wash my rims from the inside.

By the way, not being mechanically inclined, or terribly interested in
tearing apart a motor or a brake, I asked what I had for brakes (that
stopped me so well a couple of weeks ago). The answer I got was oversized
heavy duty drums on rear, standard on front .. whatever that means. I have
Bridgestone 8.75 x 16.5 E tires all around.
