I have not added the light(s) but I have done what I'd consider a
prerequisite: Put hinges on the hatch cover so it can just swing up from
the rear and remain in place. The under side of that cover would now be
an ideal location for light(s) -- with a quick disconnect for when the
cover needs to be removed. To hinge the cover, I removed the top flange at
the front of the opening, then mounted the cover with door "butts". I
replaced the removeable pins with slightly smaller diameter "L"-shaped
pins which are securely retained by the "foot", but easily removed when
needed. I use a piece of aluminum pipe, which resides on top of the
engine, to prop the lid up (easily removed air cylinders would be even more
convenient). I can't remember the last time I had to lift that heavy lid
completely off.
