I found a business in Clarksville IN, across the river from Louisville
KY, that custom made a mattress (essentially a single size) to my

If we're talking about removing the rear table and installing a
dedicated bed witha "toy box" flip up top, I have built several of those
and this is what I did.

The mattress I used was from Sears, it is called the "Posture Lux
Topaz", it is a foam mattress which can be ordered in soft med. or
firm. I do not remember the deminsions off the top of my head, call
work Tues. and I'll give you the size. It is light, flexable and sleeps
well.

Next, I built a platform with 3/4" plywood and used gas door struts from
a chrysler minivan to hold the top up to access. I of course had a
sturdy piano hinge accross the back. You will have to build the top in
2 pieces and screw them together to get them into the rear area! The
platform should be built to allow the top of the mattress to be at the
same height as the blanket locker and the foot cabinet, this way your
pillow could actually rest on the blanket locker and the bed would feel
longer!

I put an access door at the front to access the storeage area for small
things. I also flush mount a LP detector in the door panel, they are
thin, not sticking out the back of the door over 1/4" and the power wire
can be neatly looped behind the hinge to keep it out of the way.

Everyone I build these for seem pleased, the only draw back is that it
is difficult to make the bed if you want to tuck the sheet and spread
under the mattress on the back side, oh well- it can't be purfect.
