Leveling and leakdown problem ...

Hi All,

I have a 77 Kingsley with severe bag leak down problems.
I vaguely remember seeing somewhere, that someone may
have new type leveling valves, which use newer standard
connectors to replace the standard leveling valve system.

However, I can't seem to find this, now that I'm interested in
tackling this problem. Anyone know if there is such an
upgrade available? I've read several messages about using
the gas leak detector stuff, which sounds like a good part
of the solution, but I'm hoping that replacing the valves will
help as well. Any suggestions?

The first place to start is to find out where the leaks are happening -
they may not be at the valves. I believe that your coach has an electro
level system, so JR's valves won't help you there.

How fast do your bags leak down from a standard travel height when set to
the HOLD position?

In the hold position it will vary. If I'm driving I'll need to
relevel at every fill up, say 3-4 hours. When parked or
camping, sometimes it will stay fairly level for 2-3 days,
other times I'll have to get up in the middle of the night
and relevel.

It definately won't last a week, while parked. Every time
I go the coach now, it's leaning way over on it's left side.
My friend's coach, on the other hand, will drive in the "auto"
mode, and compressor will rarely ever come on during a trip,
and stay up completely for weeks on end when parked.

ps: My friend's coach is a 76, and his leveling valves are
actually damaged (but not leaking!), so he's interested in
what's available too.
