Leak at the freash water tank sending unit. gasket

I've never worked on a sender in a GM completed coach. It's leaking at the gasket between the sender housing, and the tank. I ASSUM that if I take the 6 nuts off that hold the sender in place. The studs will stay in place. Then pull the sender out. Clean all surfaces. Put a sealant on the tank. Reassemble. Is there anything that I'll have to pay extra attention too? I checked the resistance. It's good. Bob Dunahugh
