The 315 was a pretty simple install. Removed the fitting from the Dana and
screwed it into the 315. Changed wire connections and drilled 3 holes for the
mounting. It took all of 30 minutes and it was operational. Performance wise the
Dana was hurting so the new 315 was a vast improvement over a poor Dana. Can not
say if it is better than a good Dana or not. When I pull out of my shop I ahve to
lower the GMC all the way to get 1/2 inch clearance on my overhead door for the AC
and the big satellite dish. Then I have to raise the GMC all the way to be able
to clear the hum in th road. It used to take forever and with the 315 it was done
much quicker. I normally (and will probably still) hook up the system to my shop
air which accomplishes this manuever in about 30 seconds or less.
