Hello,
I heard there was going to be a National meet for the GMC Motorhome
Owners in Las Vegas in March. Can anyone shed some light on this and
tell me what the dates are and where in Las Vegas the meet is to be
held. It sure would be fun to meet with some of the very same people we
converse with on the E mail list. I just bought a 1973 Canyonlands and
plan to attend. I sent away for the latest newsletter from Cinnabar but
have not received it yet. I only hope it's not too late to get
reservations. I live in San Diego, so it's only about 380 miles for me.
Also, I was wondering if anyone out there knows about a really nice
motorhome car cover made for GMCs. I have seen generic types available
at RV Centers but I thought with all the interest in the GMCs someone
is probably making one to fit them. I have a 23 footer however. I would
like to have one that is highly water repellent but breaths so it
doesn't produce condensation underneath.. Does anyone know a good source
for a custom cover? I keep the motorhome under an awning but it would
be nice to further protect it from the sun and rain. The original paint
is still in excellent shape!. Can't wait until I get around to waxing
it. Mechanics come first however.
Also, I was wondering if anyone is parting one of these motorhomes
out in the Southern California/Arizona region. There is always these
little things needed. By the way, I just picked up an NOS Hydramatic
transmission in the San Francisco area last Sunday that was part of the
deal I made. It has sat since 1978 but is in great shape just needing
new seals because of the age. It has never been installed or used since
new and was one of those offered to the original GMC Motorhome buyers
for $500 in 1978.
Thanks, Phil Swanson
