Hi Netters!,
Last weekend I found a used computer at a computer show in Ft Lauderdale,
that while way over my budget, is new enough to enable it to grow with
the Registry. I fully expect this computer will service the Registry
quite well and I wanted to let you all know that we are back in business.
I realize many of you were losing valuable sleep over my saga.
Details:
Dell Latitude CP M233XT
Removable 4.1 gig Drive
Pent II, 233 MHz MMX
64 MB Ram
CD Rom
External Floppy
13.1" Active Matrix screen
There was no operating system with it so I have to buy Win98 and there is
no Modem but I am not too concerned about that. I also still need to buy
a backup storage device and I am leaning toward a 100 MB Zip Drive as A/
It is less expensive than the CD R/W and B/ I still have some 8 unused
100 MB disks.
The total price, including sales tax was $1,389.00 of which I have recv'd
(as of today) about $475. Whether you personally contributed or not I am
grateful for the words of encouragement that I rec'd on the Net and
privately. Those who did send checks and cash, I have already expressed
my appreciation.
Thanks for your support and encouragement without which I would not have
been able to convince my lending institution (Janet) to allow me to
charge this purchase!
