I received a brochure from the " Utah Salt Flats Racing Association ". The
USFRA are the people who " spend many hours during the spring and summer
preparing the race track ". The part of the brochure of interest is the
reference to the "USFRA 130 MPH Club" rules. If anyone is interested I can
fax you a copy. But the thing that caught my eye was that roll bars are NOT
required. Sounds like we are back in business again. The only thing that
would require modification to a GMCMH is installation of a shoulder belt and
a battery tie down. This years Annual World of Speed will run from Sept 22
to 25. I will not make it this year but count on me for next
year................................Terry

Hi Terry,

The year 2,000 seems a good year to do this.

It would be more fun if several owners showed up and made the speed run. It
would also increase our chances of solidly "nailing" the record.

Another gotcha that needs checking out in advance is the tire issue. They
specify 130 mph rated tires on their web site. A waiver would be needed
since these don't seem to be available for the GMC.

Since motor homes and large trucks have made the run before, there appears a
way to work around this published requirement.

Does the brochure include additional information to that on their Web Site ?
