Land speed record ahead

Arch this is something that I talked about with Joe Mondello when I first
contacted him early in 1998. It seemed to me to be a natural thing since
he builds the most powerful 455 that I know of. He was quite enthusiastic
than so guess he is very serious now.
How fast can a GMC go with a monster motor? Arch are you still going to
volunteer to sit on the toilet when they fly through the traps at 150+MPH????

In reality the GMC is so well designed I think it
would be a very smooth ride...I had mine over 80mph
while heading to Florida...I wasn't paying attention
and when I noticed the speed I let off the gas..On
the salt flats should be no problem...unless you blow
a tire...er...maybe the toilet would be the place to
be!

What I want to know is who the brave soul is that is going to drive the GMC
motorhome at 150MPH? Think the windshields would stay in at that speed? I
have no doubt that the Mondello 455 olds engine out of his twister would
drive it that fast. Tell you the truth if I was in it at that speed I would
want to be on the toilet and you can guess why? Arch are you on the crew?

I'll third that. I had the Pumpkin-Rose up to 88mph on first trip heading
into Bakersfield, And she felt really good with alot more to spare atleast
throttle wise, Read somewhere that coach was able to hit 100 and I guess I
was going to try to see if I could but hit traffic which was lucky for us,
Cause shortly after the Lt. ft. bogie tire started-a-flapping, My boss
wokeup to smoke and the tapping she gave me a look that said D_m Ron I know
what you were doing!!!..... Moral of story.... I'll watch the LSR, Just
feels safer!!!!! But somewhere in my mind I know the lady can do the 1with
the 00. Hope the boss don't sleep on them long straight-a-ways.

As for the windshields, do like we did in flight school in the Hughes 300.
When the windshield got to bulging in, we used our feet to push it back out
and gain more speed.{:>) Yup, that's what we did. Solo, only.

I ran mine bewteen 80 and 85 for 250 miles today on the Florida Turnpike.
Speed limit is 70 but my radar detector and all the cars whizzing by at
faster speeds left me worry free!

I don't usually drive that fast but she seemed not to mid!
