Hi Al
Well I thought I would start ordering parts for the gmc ,so I wiuld have
them when I get it out of storage in April, So I went down to my local
Canadian Tire store to order my kyb shocks ,and guess what they said that
all the stores cant order the same parts, I just about fell over.
Would you be able to get me the phone number of the Store you talked to
so I can order them there and maybe have them shipped to this store to
avoid shipping .
Every time I think I have the answer I end up right back where I
started from.

Murray,

I'm going into Kingston on Monday and will talk to the CTC folks. Since
the shocks are special order from the manufacturer, maybe they'll ship
direct to you. We'll see anyway. The worse case would be for me to order
them and send them to you by courier. My very rough SWAG of the courier
costs is $25.00.

Maybe we can make the circles smaller!!!

I realize you have problems getting things shipped from the US but you
may want to try PST. I copy an old post.
"I found the KYB shocks for 29.95 ea at Performance Suspension
Technology, PST. Their number is 800 247-2288. I believe I talked with
Danny.
I gave them the numbers for the shocks front KG5435 rear KG5436. To get
that price you have to order atleast 4 shocks. I got all six for 178.50
delivered."
BTW they charged me $184 for six. Said the special discount only
applied to multiples of four. I didn't argue to long over $5.50.

Murray,

I spoke to the CTC Kingston folks today and was advised that they cannot
reroute special order parts. They feel you should be able to order them
through you local store. In Kingston they told me no at first, but a call to
the special order desk in the Toronto regional office resulted in a "yes"
they could be ordered. They suggested your store should call the special
order desk in Edmonton - your regional office they think.

The PST source, mentioned by Ted, Larry, & Tom is quite a bit cheaper
than CTC except the courier will get you with their "brokerage fees". The
other costs are reasonable that they charge. The US dollar dropped a few
cents recently so the price is even better at PST than it was a few days
ago.
