The faucet in my 76 Eleganza doesn't hold water right at the bottom it.

Any other solution that might be locally readily available, other than
getting http://www.appliedgmc.com/prod.itml/icOid/1258 ? I'll be in SFO
in a little over a week, but would prefer to have solution before, so I
would be able to take a shower and/or use the toilet without spraying
water in parallel below the kitchen sink.

Any and all help and tips are greatly appreciated.

Where is it leaking, Peer? Right at the connection? Mine was spewing after I got to Bean Station and it was a tie-strap mount that broke and the
copper tubing worked on the connection with every bump on the way there, I guess. The sealing washers are available at True Value here at home, 500
miles away from where I was at the time. I managed to get the old seal to work (with some RTV) and re-strapped the tubing to avoid future movement of
the connection. The new ones are orange and much softer than the 40 year old originals. You may need a basin wrench to get the nuts loose and
retighten them.

Peer,

You're gonna need a new faucet. If you had it out, cleaned it up REAL good
and put plumber's epoxy on it, it might last a little while -- but not
long; too much corrosion.

Peer, unless your 76 faucet is different than your 73, you can pick one up at Home Depot or Lowes or... Then you have your pick of quality, finish,
and price.

Peer,

We are on out third galley tap. The OE was bad when we got it and Mary was clear that this was not acceptable.
The second was better but would open a valve on a rough road.
The third is a single lever with rinse feature. Technically that is the forth as it was replaced under warranty.

Just go on into LowesDepot and find something that will work. If you end up with extra holed, just buy the plugs.
Also stop over in the small fittings and buy compression adapters and flexible leaders while you are there.

Or use the extra hole for a soap dispenser. (also available at your local home improvement store.)
