Just finished installing new King Jack Antenna. Just some comments. If you go this route, get the additional base plate. It covers up the holes from
the Batwing base plate. Not difficult, but read the directions on the coax routing. My purchase had the signal strength leds, so there is a splitter
in the base of the antenna body.
I used 'flex seal' on all the base seams.

I learned at their seminar that the Directional antenna is about 30%
stronger in pulling stations than the Unidirectional ones.

Being directional is how antennas get their gain. Its the old "you can't get something for nothing" principal. Focusing their signal (or their
ability to receive signals) just like a headlight is more intense in one direction.

My Staff says I never listen to them, or something like that

There is a signal meter one an prchase with them that helps to point it
better.

I'll second the part about getting the additional base plate. I didn't at first but then discovered it was a must have item and had to place an
additional order to get it. Mine works very well and is easier to operate than the old bat-wing was.

I have seen them mounted on the riser like the original antenna. In fringe areas, it probably helps with signal gain but then you keep the blasted
thumping going down the road. I liked mine and installed one on the SOB also.

I looked at Amazon and it appears they sell a King Jack head that can be used on the Batwing mast so you wouldn’t have to replace the inside crank or mast if your Batwing ones are in good shape.
