I love my bath. I have curtains on both sides of the toilet. When I take a
shower, I close both of them. The only thing that gets wet is the toilet, and
I dry that off. The size is small enough to get a nice shower but not waste
space. Hope this helps.

I had a wet bath SOB (both translations are applicable) and did NOT like it and
my wife hated it. I waited until I could find a dry bath model GMC before
buying. I now have the 26-12 floor plan (rear twins with dry bath in center
and REALLY like it (once i got a skylight/fan cut in) and so does my wife. My
thoughts only--

The same goes for my limited experiences with my GMC. We end up
using our new toilet for those duties all the time and only use the
showers in the campgrounds if they appear clean. If they are not so
inviting or too crowded then we can use the shower in the coach.
It's a little tight fit for larger folks (I'm about 220lbs) but workable.
You just can't take a very long shower if not connected to a sewer
and water. If connected to that stuff I guess you could take a long
shower.

Nothing seems to get too wet. The floor dries pretty quickly. As it
turns out I also would not want to give up room for a bigger shower
area. The GMC is a good size the way it is for 2 people and maybe a
couple of kids. I love the way I can park most places. My brother
has a 36' SOB and it's a major project for him to take it places and
find a parking spot. He has a big shower, but then he lives in it for
4-5 months a year and keeps it in the same camp ground for 2-3
months at a time. For that type of mission I would probably go with
something other then the GMC.

Most of the time while we are traveling we are staying at campgrounds and
use their shower facilities.

Most of the time campgrounds have EXCELLANT and very clean showers.

The other 20% of the time we use our wet bath in
our 78 Eleganza. When used properly, nothing gets wet. You dont take 20min
showers. Use the water sparingly and it works great.

I for one am not willing to give up the extra space for a dry shower. I can
use the extra storage or room 100% of the time, but my shower is probably
used less than 1/2 of 1% of the time we use our GMC.

If I were of the mind to buy (or could afford) a 44 foot Prevost - I think a
dry shower would be great!

By the way - Alex just bought a 34 foot GMC! That's not a typo - an 8 foot
section was added between the wheels.

That would certainly qualify for a dry bath!

Oh - after using everything drys out very rapidly. And as long as you are
sitting fairly level - most drains instantly. A quick swipe of the bath
towel when done cleans everything up.

There are a few inconveniences that go along with the wet-bath
module. However, my husband and I both feel that we would
rather deal with those than give up the space that is needed to
have a dry-bath. After showering, we wipe the floor with
either a sponge or paper-towel. The items that are in the cabinets
above and below the sink stay dry as long as you make sure
the doors are closed. For things that don't fit in those cabinets,
we borrowed an idea from another GMC'er and have a plastic
shoe bag (with all the pockets) hanging on the inside of the
closet door. We have a temporary towel bar (read broom handle)
that just fits between the overhead cabinets in the bedroom that we
hang our wet towels on. Several years ago when we added the
second air conditioner in the back, Gary took that vent and used
it to replace the small round one that was original equipment. He
had to move the storage pod some, but it really makes a big
difference in that bathroom - lots more air circulation and light
during the day.

I have the wet bath and its one of my favorite features of the GMC. Mainly
because its so easy to keep clean. When the kids make a mess all over the
toilet and floor all it takes is a quick blast of shower-power, a complete
rinse down from the shower head and things are spotless again. Very fast
and very easy.

I think they are easier to keep clean. Everything else is about the same.

There should be a shower curtain between the bath area and the sink area.
If you pull this closed while showering it keeps things dry.

It can. But I just wipe it down with a towel after the last person showers.
Then it drys pretty quickly.

After having the wet bath I would never go back to a dry bath. In fact I
would like to figure out a way to be able to hose down my bathrooms at home :)

by now you have read several messages that are in the most part positive to the
wet bath.

We have a wet bath in a 75 Plam Beach that we have had for about 2 years. It
has 2 shower courtains...1 to cover the cabinets (that I never use) and one to
cover the door. All of the GMC's that I have seen use a portable shower head
on a hose. The idea is to wet down, cut off the water at the head, soap down,
turn on and rinse. Since you can get the water just where you want it, very
little of the bath really gets wet.

I don't worry about covering the toilet, alittle water isn't going to hurt it.
You might like to use a bathmat in the hall outside the door. When the bath
door is open, it swings toward the front of the coach and the closet door opens
toward the back of the coach, giving you a nice dressing room.

Depending on your style of use, you may or may not actually use it a lot. Go
ahead, buy the coach, if it is nice condition. Use it for a while, and if you
really don't like it, look around for a dry bath, sell this one and fall in
love all over again.

I think you guys are all wet.

I love my dry bath! I don't consider the seperate shower a loss of
storage at all, I pack that puppy full of stuff while travelling, ie:
rolled up foam egg crate thingy for the bed.

Some of my campground shower experiences have been less satisfactory
than Mike's. Unless you get up and shower before dawn, you don't want to
look at the shower floor too closely. And now they've got pay-showers!
The first one of these I encountered was of course AFTER I had paraded
through the entire campground toting my towel, soap, shampoo, and rubber
ducky, but no quarters.

The only problem I've got is the width of the folding shower door
relative to the width of the showeree (me). I've got a grey water tank
on my Royale so the specter of "When up from the floor comes a bubbling
crude" is not an issue.

I do agree that replacing the little round vent with a 14" square vent
is a great improvement, wet or dry.

My wife and I couldn't agree more, Tim. I doubt that we would get much use
out of our home on the road if she had to use a campground shower.
