Hello All, I am thinking I hit the lottery. I am in the RV restoration business and was doing an estimate on a camper when I noticed a GMC motorhome in the back of the yard. Turned out to be an extremely dirty 1976 26' with dual air. Interior was all original and mint. Granted it is original 1976 design, so it is butt ugly down to the orange shag carpeting, but nonetheless mint, not a mark anywhere on anything. Exterior looks to be yellow (hard to tell from the mildew), has the Olds 455 motor, 88000 miles exterior is also mint. I cannot find a flaw on this thing anywhere. Got it started, it took a bit has been sitting for 2 years, runs and drives perfect. Best part, I think I did well, paid $1,200 for it.

What you are calling "butt ugly" is highly saught after. There are a lot of people that think that original interior is the pinnacle of GMC ownership. Hopefully you don't just gut it and throw it all away. There are quite a few people who would love to have those original components.
Upon a little more reflection, I'm wondering about your definition of "mint." You say the exterior is mint, but you can't even tell what color it is? If it's been sitting outside for at least two years and you can't discern the color, I can't imagine the exterior can pass for "mint." It sounds like you have stumbled upon a gem though. Hopefully it's a good ride to getting it back on the road!
Welcome! I think the original interior is awesome, right down to the shag carpet. My interior has been completely “renovated,” but my stepdad’s Glenbrook (yes, GMC ownership is a family affliction!) has an original ‘75 interior that I would love to have in ours. Nothing says 1975 like yellow plaid.
