Jumpering solenoid

I'm confused by all these references to jumpering either the isolator or
boost solenoid to charge the starting battery using the converter or
genset. Wouldn't setting the solenoid to boost do the same thing? That
is, tie the house/generator batteries to the starting battery?

Just wondering...

Ritch,

The "boost" switch is spring loaded in later models and will only stay
there as long as you hold it.

OK. I get it, momentary switching on some coaches, definitely beneficial
then because of amperage loss & accelerated solenoid contact degradation
w/continued contact via the switch. Gotcha. And thanks a lot from this
newbie.
