Ok,

just wanting a little clarification:

NC = no connection????

I see in the power point, there are 3 wires off the molex connection, however, it is circled "4 wires used".

the diagrams show 4 items:

12+
NC
ACC
GND.

the NC in the pin out diagram says it is a ground on the pump.

I only have 3 pins that came with the connector.

Jon

NC is usually associated with relays or switches and means Normally Closed.

I haven’t seen your diagram though.

Jon,

This should clarify 'most anything about the JC-4:

The slideshow and other info on gmcmhphotos is where my question derives.

http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/vacuum-booster-pump-auxiliary-gmc-jc4/p24283-jc4-pump.html

Position C. Says NC

Right- usually normally closed.

The oem connector and pump only came with 3 pins to connect wires. And the slide showing the molex has only 3 wires.

So i am guessing that c position that is indicated as ground on the pump pinout is not needed. (Have pin A as ground)

Jon,

In such case as a device, NC usually means No Connection.
Frequently, connector with more than the minimum pins are used for a variety of reasons.
The three biggest are:
- They ordered a connector with more capability and found they didn't need it.
- They needed to differentiate it from another connector.
- They were protecting for a future feature.

It's been years since I fooled with one, but the instructions seem clear to
me to say:

A=Ground
B=D=+12 VDC (Ign)

The other pins are either NC=No Connection or un-needed inputs.

Try it.
