I'll bite. What is the Jacobs Ignition Upgrade? Might it help my
pinging and knocking at lower elevation?

I installed the Jacobs Ignition team for my GMC, Had to return cable to
hook up to energy pack. It had a resistor in it and would not start.
After this upgrade and a new set of Champon copper plugs the engine
started 100% faster and runs much tighter. The engine is more responsive
and the gas milage is up by 2 mpg. I am a happy camper. A very easy and
productive upgrade. Getting ready for the 30 mile trip to Myrtle Beach,
see ya there.

An after market ignition module, that has some rather interesting features.
Among them are an increased ignition energy over that of an HEI, and the a
means of zapping the cylinder again. I have seen how this thing works, on 1
GMC, and the effects are noticeable, increased mileage, smoother idle, burns
cleaner. A well tuned 455 is a smooth running engine by itself, but with
the Jacobs system in place it's really smooth.

It also has an "anti-theft" feature built in. Start the engine, and if you
don't flip a switch within 30 seconds, the engine shuts down. If you
forget, you can reset the system, by flipping the switch before you restart,
otherwise, good luck as it will not run. Having forgotten to flip the
switch, I can attest to the fact that it works rather well. This feature
can be turned off for the forgetful, and those who don't need it.

Larry, I found their web page and learned all about the Jacobs
products. What did you order and why?
