Jack -- I tried to return a message to you by e-mail direct outside
of the GMCnet and it kept being returned. I tried "Jack
Hodgman"@bc.sympatico.ca, Jack Hodgman and Jack
Hodgman @bc.sympatico.ca but none seemed to work.
Get back to me and I'll try again.

FYI, white space is illegal in an e-mail address, and hence that is why any
attempt to send to "Jack Hodgman" will fail. This will attempt to
mail to "Jack" and "Hodgman", and not the user that you attempted to
send to.

Thanks Tim. That's why I tried to send it three ways. This is what
the message from him had as the address:

From: Jack Hodgman

Notice that it has the quotes around the name and there is a space in the name.

Any other suggestions?

Try using the upper case dash _ between the first and last names. I've seen
this cause your problem because the underlining that Explorer puts under the
entire address disguises it.

Give it a try.

Travis,

For whatever reason my E-Mail will not accept capital letters in the
address. I learned that when I had to change Majordomo to majordomo.

Per the internet RFCs, e-mail address is case insensitive (IE does not matter)
so there is no need to ever use uppercase, unless you really want to . . . .

On a lot of PCs, the user types in the reply-to address, and it is not derived
by the system. Hence, I suspect that Jack put an invalid reply-to address in
his mailer, and hence is deaf to replies. You may want to look at the headers
on the mail (detail view in Windows mailers?) and see if you can spot any other
variant.
