Although you didn't say, by certain of your words I'm guessing that you
reside in the SE part of the country. It would be helpful for you to
locate a few other owners in your area to call on for advice, answering
questions, experiences, etc. In case you don't have access to the GMC
club member listings, we can help you with contacts by finding out your
location. I would be glad to help along those lines.
Assume you have seen the four GMC related web site addresses. They have
some helpful information and sources.
GMC Motorhomes International has a quarterly newsletter, and holds a
biannual rally that concentrates on seminars dealing with the
intricacies of maintaining/upgrading your coach, plus ones for the
spouses who are not inclined to work on a coach. They generally attract
approximately 300 coaches each time and schedule open house's where you
can tour others coaches for ideas.
There are regional GMC clubs that are helpful, in addition.
Cinnabar also publishes a quarterly newsletter that is informative,
which includes information about new parts availability.
A good alternative to the original jack is a properly sized (capacity)
bottle jack. You'll need a lug nut wrench of course.
Generally speaking, one of the great attributes of most GMC owners is
their willingness to assist other owners and to share ideas, etc., and
the camaraderie.
Good luck in your pursuit of the GMC lifestyle.
