Isolators

the really best way to test the isolator is to use a meter with a diode
test position. In your case Dean, it sounds like you have three batteries
on the isolator (three out and one in).

the test is to remove the wires and connect your meter in the diode test
position from the input to each of the output terminals. Then reverse the
test leads on the two terminals. YOU SHOULD ONLY GET A READING IN ONE
DIRECTION.

If you get any reading in the reverse direction the isolator is bad. The
Diodes almost always fail shorted, so there should be no reading between
terminals except from the input terminal to any of the out terminals.
