1977 Kingsley 455 as stock as it gets except lots of Ragusa parts

Silicone spray usually works well. Don’t use WD40 or oil because dust and dirt will stick to it and make sliding even worse.

Hello TG -

I had the same issue on the large sliding window behind the drivers seat - above the dinette in my 1973 23 footer.

I purchased this. My test fitting suggests that it’ll work just fine. It needs adhesive to stay in place - I’m planning to glue it up this
weekend.

I can’t get a link to the specific product. It’s jjautofabrics.com. Product 2161.

Hope this helps - good luck.

Thanks Steve, will take a look at this. I have got a silicone spray I bought from a RV supply store that was specific to the sliding glass issues so
hopefully it will do the job.

Thanks all,
TG

More often than not, dirt accumulates under the felt slides at the bottom of the window opening. When it rains, dirt washes down the window and
settles under the felt slides. That dirt builds up, lifting the window up against the top slides, jamming the window between the upper and lower
slides, Sometimes you can use higher pressure water with a hose squirting in the drain slots at the bottom of the window frame and flush that dirt
out. Problem with that method is that the water can then get through to the inside of the coach. You are better off pulling the lower slides out from
under the window, and lift the window out. Then use a screwdriver or another such tool to scrape the dirt out. Then silicone the window slides and the
window as you are putting it back together. My coach sets outside in the weather, so this dirt thing happens more often that many others who store
under cover. So using lower pressure water with a hose, every time I wash the coach, I will gently flush the drain slots free of accumulating dirt,
and every couple of washes, will silicone the window slides. While many have replaced their windows with the newer style windows, I really like
pulling into a campground, and opening those big windows on both sides of the coach to allow fresh air to blow through the coach. JWID

Hopefully you xacto knife cut out the bottoms of the U seal material to match the drain slits before final installing. This would also remove material
and maybe a bit less “pinch” of the glass as well.
