I finally got it! Thank you for your suggestions Jim and Emery.
I ended up using a self tapping number 16 bolt and slide hammer. It was not easy but it finally came.

When your running the stock exhaust manifold the dip tube is almost in
contact with the glowing hot exhaust manifold which deteriorates the thin
tube.
When we install the Tri-Y headers, we always replace the tube as they are
ready to bteak
