I had a set of TSM (Streetrod) 4 wheel disk brakes on the rear. Those had f=
our 11=E2=80=9D Lincoln rotors and Chevrolet calipers and pads. They wor=
ked much better than the drum brakes they replaced. But, last summer I deci=
ded to remove them and put Dave Lenzi=E2=80=99s brake system on my mid axle=
. I decided to not put any brakes on the rearmost axle. I felt I could alwa=
ys add brakes on the rearmost if I needed them. After installation I took i=
t for a test drive. At the first stop sign I hit the brakes hard while goin=
g 25 mph. The front dipped down and if I had not had my seatbelt on I would=
have mashed into the steering wheel. I=E2=80=99ve never had such good brak=
es. Some more braking and a short trip into the mountains near me convinced=
me that I didn=E2=80=99t need any brakes on the rear axle. I will be addin=
g Lenzi=E2=80=99s hydraulic parking brake to the caliper bracket this next =
spring. We went to the GMCMI convention in Amana last fall. Going i=
nto a town for gasoline an idiot in a small car cut me off and then hit the=
ir brakes when I was doing 35 mph. I slammed on my brakes and stopped withi=
n 10 feet, about 2 feet from their bumper. With my old brakes I know I woul=
d have hit them. My wife=E2=80=99s seatbelt kept her from flying into the w=
indshield. Her first words were =E2=80=9Cthank God you put on the new brake=
s!=E2=80=9D My kit went on easily. But recently I installed Lenzi=
=E2=80=99s kit on Gus Nottberg=E2=80=99s GMC in Loveland CO. We left his dr=
ums on the rear to use it=E2=80=99s parking brake. I had a very hard time b=
leeding his brakes. We even took his new master cylinder off and replaced i=
t with another new one (thanks, Dave). That didn=E2=80=99t help. I still go=
t a lot of bubbles at the rear and couldn=E2=80=99t get braking. I slept on=
the problem overnight and in the morning I decided to put Teflon tape on t=
he bleeder screws. I also used a vacuum bleeder. That solved the problem.=
They quickly bled and I immediately finally got good pedal. It turns out=
that the bleeder screws were quite loose in the calipers and a lot of air =
leaked through the threads. I didn=E2=80=99t have that problem with my GMC =
bleeding so the machining of the bleeder screws must vary from batch to bat=
ch or the threads in the calipers vary. Gus and I took it for a test drive =
and he said that it was the best braking he had ever had in all the years t=
hat he owned the motorhome. He said he won=E2=80=99t be afraid to drive in=
the mountains again. I highly recommend Dave=E2=80=99s kit. Like ever=
ything that Dave does, the quality of the machining well is superb and ever=
ything goes together nicely with very complete instructions. I replac=
ed my P30 34mm master cylinder with the GMC original master cylinder becaus=
e the smaller piston would give more pressure. I did the same for Gus. The =
volume of the original master cylinder is fine for 80 mm front disks and fo=
r Dave=E2=80=99s caliper and drums on the rear. You also might want =
to use Dave=E2=80=99s sensitized booster and get an original master cylinde=
r from him. If you get the booster and master cylinder he will set up the p=
in length before shipping it to you. If anyone has questions call me.=
