Hello fellow GMC enthusiast.
I had no clue this forum even existed until I stumbled across it today. For those of you who do not know of me, Please let me introduce my self.

I am Robert Schamber. A current GMC technician at Alex Sirum GMC. Formerly I had the honor of working at the Co-op for the 3 years preceding it's demise. I am now in my 13th year as a full timer in a GMC. One could say I drank too much of the Kool-Aid. Needless to say Today was my lucky day.😁

Before I chose to change my career and move to the other side of the country I was in the construction & maintenance field and married for 37 years w/3 great kids. I had always wanted to build my own home so I bought my second GMC and made a plan to learn the motor part of home. Did it go as planed? Not exactly!! With Covid, Bounds, and today's weird world, I was able to learn as much as I could, if not more. Am I ready? Only time will tell if my dream of a SUPER COACH will ever see the light of day on the pavement of my life"s road. That is the Cliffs Notes version of my experience up to Today.

It still boggles my mind that this forum was right under my nose since I started here.😒 Live and Learn.

Time to Build! ! ! !

Welcome Robert! I went to the Co-Op closing event in January 2022 (my post near end of 2nd page) - end of an era. Sounds like you have great experience in this field - excellent you're now at Sirum.

When you get a chance, upper right corner menu /Account/Signature ...add your town or area and GMC model(s) & year(s) makes it easier for all of us to keep track ;-)

So glad you finally found us!

Thank you Kendra,
I remember meeting you @ the Co-op closing event. I clicked on that Link & took myself a trip down memory lane. That was nice!! ;)
As for a GMC Rest-O-Mod location: I have always favored Texas as it's centrally located w/2 day shipping to either coast, Business friendly, & way less Mosquitos.
When I get a chance I will do just that.

"So glad you finally found us!" I concur, It was like finding something I had lost. 🙏

Thank You Billy,

It is my pleasure to have found this place. It's like FB without all the alligators. HAHA

Robert:

I think we ran into each other at the COOP Auction. I bid on and won the blue COOP 455. It is installed in my coach.

I showed this photo to Jason when I was there. I think that he showed it to you.

Does that ring a bell?

Here Jason is delivering the COOP 455 to Cliff's shop.

Here it is in my coach with the FiTech fuel injection system installed.

However, it is only roughly tuned. It is beyond me.

Did you ever work with Jason to tune one of these motors with FiTech?

I am in Palmetto, FL, only 119 miles from Sirum, a 2 hour, 22 minute drive. Have you ever thought about doing moonlight jobs?

I have a lot of tools.

This is my old engine that was running fine when it was pulled.

Want to build another COOP 455 and put it into someone's coach?

Check out my posts, particularly
"Converting to LiFePO4 batteries and Sailor Man's LiFePO4 Build".

By the way, I am a retired architect, now 20 years since I closed my office.

This was one of my designs, built by me and my client about the same time my coach was manufactured.

I could use your help. Are you interested?
