interior window trim

The recent queries about window treatment got me wondering about
possible replacements for the plastic molding which frames the windows
on the inside of the coach. Mine is yellowed and some of the pieces have
cracks and drill holes from prior owner's installation of various window
treatments.

1) Does anyone know where to get original-equipment-type replacements?

2) Better yet, anyone figured out a better-looking alternative?

Richard,
Look at my web site at the interior pics of the 75 Transmode I did. I used
a bulb seal edge trim that I think looks pretty good.

It also does a good job of cutting down on the wind noise at the entry door!

I just called .... Dale Anderson 815-485-2462 is parting out GMC's [GMC
Motorhome Preservation] ... about the trim around my door window. He said
that he has all 8 pieces and that he'll take $80 for the set.

hmmm, on second thought, it don't look that hard to just whittle out some
pieces of .035 aluminum and paint em white. I'll put that on my list.

Yup, that's mine, on an early '77 model.

I had good results cleaning up those trim mouldings useing a combination
of Wesleys Bleach White (Whitewall tire cleaner) Comet
Cleanser & Steele Wool soap pads.
The few pieces that didn't clean up well I reinstalled on top of the
windows, behind the cabinets.

I bought from Cinnabar several of the plastic window tirm pieces you are
missing. They had the corners and the straight runs last year.
Although not inexpensive, the parts were new and I colored them with
vinyl paint to match the ineterior of my coach. Hope this helps.

Sound like mine also on '74. I just purchased a long piece (bottom)
and short piece (side) for the side window from Cinnabar using the P/N
out of the Parts Manual.

Not sure of the exact build date of mine but it's a '77 with the Olds
455, which would make it an early one. Dave has my VIN in his directory
so maybe he knows the mfg date. One other note; mine's finished by
Coachmen. Don't know if they would have converted to new trim at the
same time GM did.

Thanks to all on your tips regarding interior window trim. I'm
especially curious to try steel wool soap pads and whitewall tire
cleaner on the old parts. Never would have thought of that.

Arch's coach carries a low 1976 production number cause the chassis was
built, as he said, in 11/75. 1976 was the biggest production year and so
many were built that IIRC, production was stopped at Pontiac for a while
to let demand ctach up.

Richard's 23' was #787 in the sequence but only 253 23' were built in
1977. You can't always tell from the sequence number because 23 and 26'
models carried number sequentially.

FWIW, cut in TZE's for 403ci engines were TZE167V101285
TZE337V101287
TZE367V101312

If anyway cares to send me their date of mfg from the decal to the left
of the drivers seat (on GM finished coaches) I wouldbe glad to include
that in the data for your coach. Then we can try to make some sense on
cut-in dates for changes.
