Interesting that a 78 car 403 has no baffel in the oil pan. But our 78 403 does.

Our oil pans hold more oil. But both engines have the same full oil level. We have the small raised area for the axle. But there again that doesn't raise the oil level. Does the 455 have a baffle? I don't remember. Bob Dunahugh
 
I believe the 403 and the 455 MH engines use the same Toronado oil pan.

Bob,

One of the 455 I torn down did have a sort of scraper baffle and I think it was the one with the nodular crank. My coach engine did not have anything
in the pan (except assorted pieces of piston ring).

Yes Bob the 455 does have a baffle on the pass side. On the MH pan.
