Read your policy first. Most insurers have gone to "plain language"
policies over the past ten years so they're really not that tough to
follow. Look for exclusions for "types" or "causes of loss". After
you're convinced there's no exclusion concerning running propane on the
road, call your agent or the insurers customer service department. If
they tell you it is excluded, then ask them to tell you where. The
policy is a legal contract, so it's gotta' be in there.

I'm often surprised by misconceptions people have about insurance. A
friend recently told me that his agent told him that, if he didn't have
a licensed electrician install the generator in his house(Y2K),
then they wouldn't pay for resulting damage to his house's wiring.
First I told him that I was almost positive that there's no such
exclusion in an HO3 policy, then I told him that electrical breakdown is
probably excluded, so the damage likely wouldn't have been covered in
the first place, even if he used a licensed contractor.

Just remember, insurers can't make up the rules as they go along. It's
a legal contract and the language must be very specific as any ambiguity
will be to the advantage of the insured.
