I got a confusing letter from RV Alliance (formerly Alexander and Alexander)
when the put my GMC policy in place last spring. I wrote them for a
clarification.

Last week, I got back a letter that while still not crystal clear. I haven't
called them, but what I'm reading states they need an appraisal.

The ADP Autosource fact sheet indicates that this will cost $175, and that I
will need to pay 50% at the time of appraisal. There is an additional cost
if the appraiser needs to drive to me. (I've stored our coach for the
winter, so that would be the case.)

They also indicate that the appraisal will remain current for 3 years then
must be renewed, or the policy will be 'changed to actual cash value'.

I think I'll call for more information. Before I do, has anyone else gotten
these types of conditions of coverage set out by RV Alliance?

Has anyone else been through this appraisal process?

I've seen on the list the Buskirk's do an appraisal by the submission of
photos (which I have).

Does anyone know if Buskirk's an accredited appraisal service for RV
Alliance (or Royal, the underwriter)?

One other observation: On other 'specialty' insurance I have on a VW thing,
you can reduce the rate in the winter (when the vehicle is stored) because
there isn't any chance of collision, uninsured motorist, etc. Royal doesn't
let you do that.
