How about an insulation that is user friendly, soft as cotton and
effective to 1200 deg. f. One half of the composite is the stuff they
wrap catalytic converters in and the other half is a silicon impregnated
glass mat. Is this something that would be of interest. I can send small
samples if requested. Engine compartment and genset compartment. Would
the interest lie in a pre-cut screw in place, simple to install or would
you rather order by the sq/ft and cut to fit your self. ~$5.00 - $5.50
sq/ft. This is my inexpensive market research. I am also looking into
how many of you would be interested in the rubber stop that sits on the
door frame where the latch closes. You guys who actually still have them
know what I am talking about. Any color would be available. At this
point I would think ~ $15.00. For those of you are patiently
waiting...the screen door is coming :) Should be in production sometime
in February. Pictures soon. Really Darren

Thanks Chuck. I actually already have the two parts of the material. The insulating part is a BGF mat. I have done some testing at home already and am very happy with the results. I
now have 750 sq/ft of the two parts and am in the midst of making patterns. That was the purpose of my post: to find out if I need to make the patterns. I really like this two part
mix. I think it addresses all of the concerns for sound proofing, temperature control and the ability to work with it without having to use gloves or a dust mask. By adding the mat
to the batt it sure makes for a beautiful clean looking installation. I have the technical data if any one is interested. I am going to be replacing my existing Lytherm with
this. Darren

Sorry guys and gals. I made a mistake on the price of the insulation. It
should read $4.00 - $4.50 sq/ft. The numbers would be different
for a custom cut and stitched insulation package. Darren

Darren, I'd be interested in the pre-cut version for the engine compartment.

Keep us posted on price & availability.

I have a pre-cut version prepared. It fits very nicely. I could send you a
sample if you are interested. The price on the pre-cut version is $219.00 plus
shipping which would be in the neighborhood of $20.00. Darren
