Paul:
On question #3, the 403 cid engine was an option in 1977 and the only one in
1978.

Could someone direct me to web info or provide answers to:
1. What is the Mobil 1 oil filter for '77 GMC 455? Is there one
that is larger in capacity that will fit? I want to try the Mobil
1 filter with Mobil 1 oil at next change, and I want as much
filtering capacity as I can get even with Mobil 1.
2. What year car do I use as a reference for the parts guys to
get exact, correct spark plugs, wires, distributor cap, rotor,
coil & tune up parts? Does anyone have the replacement AC part
#s? Can I just replace these parts without major adjustments or
without having to rebuild, recurve, etc. the distributor?
3. Does anyone know when the "last 455" was sold? My '77 is
serial # 740 & it has 455 that I think is original. What is
the first serial # of the 403 engine or were both engine sizes
available during '77 production? Dave, does the registry
provide any info on this subject?
Inquiring minds just like trivia questions.
